Learning Differences: Overcoming emotional learning blocks in students with learning and/or behavioral challenges

The workshop will begin with a description of most commonly encountered learning differences. It will then focus on the secondary emotional effects that accompany these difficulties. The student’s negative feelings of resistance and shame block the teaching process. We will address emotional management and healthy problem solving by engaging in hands on strategies that can be used by the teacher either personally or in the classroom.
