TECHNOLOGY 101: COLLABORATION, PARTICIPATION AND INDEPENDENCE

The aim of this brief workshop is to use simple technology to achieve 3 aims:

a) Increase our studentsʼ participation in the learning process both inside the classroom and afterwards; to this end, we will look at tools which speed up communication among group members and, crucially, encourage participation by making studentsʼ contributions visible.

b) Help learners become more independent through the use of tools and sites that will allow them to experiment with simple and easy strategies which they can adopt effortlessly.

c) Facilitate communication between teacher and learners by making use of a super user- friendly platform which can simply revolutionise classroom teaching. Setting tasks, solving problems as they occur, checking progress etc. has never been so easy!
