SUPPORT AND INTERVENTION EXERCISES FOR STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA AND LEARNING DIFFICULTIES

This workshop follows the introductory one on “Dyslexia and LD in ELT, Signs, Strategies, Solutions”. It aims at giving English Teachers adequate resources in order to facilitate their teaching of English to students with LD.
Description
Initially, some guidelines will be given on how we can interpret an evaluation test or a formal diagnosis from KEDDY or MPCs. Different categories of LD will be analysed with a focus on those which affect more significantly ELT. Real diagnoses by state bodies will be discussed and examples of students’ work where intervention is necessary will be shown. The next step refers to intervention and support exercises from Junior to Certificate level, during which you will have the chance to design in groups your own exercises. A separate section on the psychological support from teachers and parents will follow. Finally, time will be allowed for attendees questions.
