THIS IS HOW WE DO IT: DEALING WITH DIFFICULTIES AND CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

These days we are supposed to be 21st century teachers, with 21st century learners. Educational institutions are rushing to embrace new ways of learning and new technologies. But the 20th century challenges of teaching remain: mixed ability classes, discipline problems, exams, homework, students who don’t want to speak or write… These are still the problems that cause most stress in a teacher’s life. This workshop will look at ways that teachers around the world “survive teaching”, particularly in the above areas. We will go through a series of practical, hands-on activities that help establish a good learning environment in our classes, of any century!
